Update! Update! Update!

Okay, we've had enough requests for updated pictures, so here goes.  Tammy has been doing all the updating lately, so now it's my turn.  With school starting tomorrow, she hasn't had much time to do anything besides get ready.  Lucky for me that Skeeters is winding down and I can spend a little more time at home and dealing with a rear-ended car.  I still have another month of Skeeters, but this time of year the pace slows down a bit.  Anyway, on to the pictures!

First off, in mid August, there was an event called Fire in the Park.  The event consists of a modified "firefighter challenge" where contestants race through a series of firefighter type scenarios and a chili cook-off.  This is the second year, and it grew tremendously since its inception.  There were a lot more people as well as more events.  Last year there were 2 bagpipers that opened the event - Tige and myself.  We didn't do all that well, but hey, there weren't that many people there so it worked out!  This year, we had a "Bagpipe Symposium" (a day of classes/training the day before Fire in the Park) in conjunction with Fire in the Park.  We had 9 different firefighter pipe bands represented from places like Seattle, Bellingham, Spokane, Boise, Eugene and Salem.  It was a huge success.  We had a mass band event to open the ceremonies this year, and it went off great!

Here we go! There were kids events also.

Shake it Kian!!

Holly did pretty good.  I think it was the practice on the Wii Fit.  If only she had hips...

There was even shaved ice!

Overall, the event was a huge success.  We can't wait for next year!  Hopefully, it will be even bigger and better!
