In all Seriousness

This spring break we took life a little less serious.  After all, these are the moments that count the most!!

Goofing Around at Lake Chelan

Whose teenager is that???
This one looks like he just got swallowed up by a name brand!

Papa had more luck getting his granddaughter to mow the lawn than his own two children.

These 21st Century children were pretty adamant that "they would die"
if they had to live the way the Pioneers lived.

He makes me so proud!!

Playing Checkers??

The photo says it all!

You know you are a redneck when Papa teaches the kids how to sled downhill...in the grass!!

Seriously???

H made Grumpy a hat!!

Pensive!

In his glory!

In his glory!

What? Who?  No Way!!!

Mom crushing the Easter Egg Hunt fun...literally!!

Papa's giggly girl!

Annie in the second grade!!

She's gone to school.  Apparently, she now wants to go to church!!

I love my crazy family!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Saturday we drove up to Lake Chelan to be a part of a birthday celebration for Kyle's grandfather (Pampa) brother's 100th birthday.  It was great to be a part of the celebration and to spend the afternoon with the family.

It didn't take H long to find the birthday boy!

Cousins Brian and Cassidy provided the entertainment with assistance from K.

Floyd with the pampa's great grandchildren!

Kyle with Gammans (Pampa's wife aka Floyd's sister-in-law)

Gamman's with the great grandkiddos!

H with Nama!

H with Nama and Grumpy!

The Kirby Fam

He says himself that he has had a very blessed life!
In my opinion, he radiates joy and it was such an honor to be a part of his day.

HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY FLOYD!!!!

A Little of This and That!

Tonight was H's talent show at her school.  She played two different piano pieces.  She did great!!  She was very nervous, but despite the nerves, she played beautifully...she was steady and  expressive.

A few weeks ago K had a band concert.  It was the first time we ever stepped foot into his future middle school as this was a combined 5th/6th concert.  The kids did amazing.  I can't believe how much they have learned since September.  The kids sounded great.  K had a fun evening.  He is continuing on with music in the 6th grade which I am so happy about but he may be switching instruments and may be entering into an entirely new type of music:  ORCHESTRA!  (more on that later!)

Yesterday we woke up with over an inch of *snow* on the ground.  We all had a 2hr late start so H made us breakfast (blueberry waffles) by herself and the four of us sat and watched an episode of Little House on the Prairie before we even started getting ready for the day.  It was so lovely to have an extra hour in the morning with the kids and Kyle.  Today the sun came out and we walked H to school, then this evening we walked to and from the talent show under a blue sky!  LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
K decided to show us his scooter talent on the way home!

Tonight K sat with Kyle while watching H.  I think it nice for H to have the "tables turned" as lately she has had to spend many hours in the cold ice rink watching her big brother.

I snapped this picture of H before we left tonight! Beautiful Beautiful H!!

It is almost the end of an era as K is weeks away from leaving his elementary school.  He has had excellent teachers that have cared, pushed and inspired this kid.  It takes a great leader to inspire and motivate teacher and students to persue a quality education.  Here are the kids with their really awesome principal!

Today I had an awesome surprise as my husband showed up during 5th period and brought my student teacher and me Subway for lunch.  It was awesome!!!  The three of us sat and had a relaxing lunch together.  The students were surprised too when MR KIRBY came walking in.  They giggled and blurted out "How sweet!"  "How romantic!"  "Look at Mrs. Kirby she is blushing."  It was funny.  Kyle and I had to step out of the room so my student teacher could finish her lesson.  High school students get so distracted! :-)  It was great to see my hubby in the middle of the day!

After walking Kyle to the office so he could hand in his Visitor's Badge, I was walking back to the teacher prep room when a substitute teacher told me to get back to class!  AWESOME!  Yes, I giggled and smiled!!  It was a great day for so many reasons and one being the sight of...

SPRING BLOSSOMS!!

Goal time

When that 6:30am alarm goes off on SATURDAY, we are not so eager to get out of bed, but once we are there, the time flies and it probably is one of the highlights of our week.  K is now on the rink at 7:30am on Saturdays to participate in scrimmages.

Competition is fierce!

Happy to support Ge Ge

but what they really think of that 6:30am wake up call.  However, it is all worth it when K...

scores 6 goals!!!!!
Hard to believe that 9 months ago, he didn't even know how to skate!

Say Cheese

One Sunday, we woke up and decided to go for a drive.

 We ended up here!

H went for her own Sunday drive.

The boys arm wrestled while waiting for lunch.

H looked pretty while waiting for lunch.

LUNCH!

We weren't there for the smiley fries, we were there for the

Ice-Cream!!!  (H was definitely happy at this moment in time...bubble gum in one hand and cake batter in the other.  Yum!)

We enjoyed an afternoon of sunshine and not having to wear our winter coats.

...and what could be better than cheese and ice-cream???

The first sign of spring!!
